| Vaginal
surgery Tightening
of loose vagina Details
of Procedure:- The
vagina is a like a loose tube. It is suspended in the tummy by uterus above. It
is further held in place by a set of muscles and fascia around it. In
the course of delivery of the baby these muscles and fascia get stretched. If
the elastic recoil does not take place by nature &/ or exercises then the
lady is left with a loose vagina. Extreme
of looseness will give rise to prolapse. A
loose vagina may interfere with the sexual pleasure to both the partners. By
a series of plication sutures the loose fascia and muscles are tightened. Case
selection - The lady should not have vaginal infection. If it be, then the infection
must be eradicated first. The
vagina should be loose. But not loose to give prolapse. If
there is prolapse , it should be operated first or may be concurrently. Any
urinary infection or perineal skin infection should be treated first. The
operation is done under general or regional anaesthesia. Postoperative:-
Patient is awake at the end of surgery. There may be discomfort for first few
days. Recovery:-
The operated area will heal in 10 days. The sutures would dissolve away. The
tissue would be firm in three weeks. After six weeks the patient can do exercises
to get better in the muscle tone and have a better grip. Do's
and don'ts:- Take good rest for 10 days. No intercourse for six weeks. Continue
with exercises for 6 months. Hymenopalsty Details
of Procedure:- The
Hymen is a thin layer at vaginal opening. Normally
it is torn at the time of the first intercourse. It
could rupture at horse riding and sports. This
is what causes bleeding at the first intercourse and many men are satisfied with
the virginity of the wife when they see the blood. Reconstruction
of the Hymen is hymenoplasty. The
girl can then be passed off as a virgin. It
is procedure that can be done under local anaesthetic and done as a day care surgery. The
sutures are dissolvable. One should allow it to heal and avoid getting married
for three weeks after surgery. |
